SCCF’s first meetings were held in the ‘Gatehouse’ at Nambour State School in 1982. Over the next 18 years, the congregation met at many and varied venues around the Sunshine Coast, finally building its own hall on acreage in Forest Glen.
The Lord has dealt mercifully with us as a congregation over the years ensuring that the word we hear continues to change our lives.
We are always looking to keep faith with the Lord and what He would have for us as a congregation. We rejoice over the last few decades and we are prayerfully considering the way ahead as we continue to be a light on the Highway.
Our care for one another is an integral part of our life together. Just as in the early church recorded in the book of Acts, the church is cared for by men and women who have received a grace from God for the work that is needed. We do not have a hierarchy of leaders.
A large team of men and women work together to ensure that the church’s program, from our Sunday service through to maintaining our property, runs smoothly enabling every member’s active participation.
We are closely linked to many other Christian fellowships around Australia and overseas (including Papua New Guinea and Malaysia). The word we speak and the songs we sing, just like the life we live, is the one life sourced from Christ for His people.
